The best way I have found to slow down is to put pen to paper.
One minute it is dark outside. Next thing I know the sun is coming up. There is something to be said, and even satisfying, about getting lost in the moment.
The late sessions, the ink, the watercolor, the buildings that exist because I needed to create more space in an overcrowded thought. My own world. The chaos in the lines is not a mistake. It is kind of the whole point.
